I dream of a world without a deadly virus
Where we could see our favorite people again
Staying less than six feet apart
Enjoying the memories we would make
A dark, royal blue sky
With twinkling fairy stars, varied shapes and sizes
Shining like diamonds at a jewelry store
The moon, like a magic stone in the air
A fire, blazing like the sun
Creating a nostalgic smoke that roamed the air
Becoming a source of heat on the chilly evening
Surrounded by firewood, producing a beautiful aroma
A line of trunk-open cars
Sitting just behind the open fire
Filled with warm blankets and pillows that feel like home
Like one of those pictures you see on social media
A crowd of familiar faces; friends and their families
The younger ones playing with the glowing dragonflies
Older ones discussing their schoolwork and activities
Parents talking about things we don’t need to worry about yet
A brave soul shouting “who wants s’mores?”
Kids, parents, gathering around the camp table
Gathering their chocolate, marshmallows, graham crackers
Sitting around the campfire, exchanging laughs and comments
A wonderful night in the outside
No fears or worries to be seen
Making memories to last a lifetime
I dream of this magical, problem-free world
